Introduction

The author uses archaeological relics and cultural relics as the starting point, and through the combing of several major elements of civilization – capitals, tombs, ritual buildings and ritual vessels, and writing, as well as the display of national treasures and relics, he presents a panoramic view of China’s five thousand years of uninterrupted civilization, as well as different dynasties established in different periods and by different ethnic groups, and the consistent national identity of the Chinese nation.

This book adopts a retrospective writing style, explaining from near to far, from known to unknown, from the common courtyards around us, the Forbidden City that can be visited, etc., to explore their historical sources one by one, looking back at the roots of Chinese civilization.
